& A

Please make sure to read over all the frequently asked questions before contacting the Klahanie Office.

Q. Where can I check availability?

Our new booking system allows campers to choose the sites they would like for their stay. If the site you would like does not show up when making a reservation, this means it has been previously reserved.

 Q. What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is anytime after 1:00 pm and check-out is anytime before 11:00 am.

 Q. How do I register if I’m arriving late?

If you arrive late or when the office is closed, we require you to follow a self-registration process posted at the office window before going to your site and setting up camp. Please be advised that Klahanie reserves the right to re-use your campsite if you have not notified us of late arrival by 8:00 pm.

 Q. Can I invite friends and family to visit for the day?

Yes! However, for insurance, safety, and use of the facilities we require all-day guests and vehicles to register at the office and pay the user fee. Day passes are available from 7:00am - 10:00pm. Unregistered guests or trespassers will be subject to a fee of $35.00 and may face eviction from the park.

Q. What facilities do you have in the campground?

We have flush toilets, coin-operated showers (accepting $0.25, $1.00, $2.00),  WIFI, fire-pits and picnic tables in each site.

Q. May I use the showers if I'm not camping at Klahanie?

NO! All the facilities at the Klahanie Campground are for the exclusive use of registered campers only.

Q. Do we need a reservation??

We encourage campers to book well in advance, particularly for Premium sites.

During weekends and long weekends (holidays), the park (and all other camping parks in this area) are often fully booked generally months in advance.

If you’re planning on visiting during a weekend or long weekend, please make a reservation!

Q. Are there sites available for Walk-Ins? Do we need a reservation??

We hold a few sites on a first-come-first-serve basis.

These are NOT reservable and you must be at the office to register for one of these sites.

We also offer overflow options.

Q. Is there fishing at the campground?

No – however, there are many fishing areas in and around Squamish.

Q. Is there swimming on the campground??

No- however, there is a creek that can be a way to cool off in and there is a lake 5 minutes away south of the campground called Murrin Lake.

Q. Are picnic tables, fire pits, and BBQs included with camping sites?

Each site includes a picnic table and a fire pit. Note, we do not offer BBQs or grills, however, campers may bring their own.

Q. How will I know if a fire ban is in effect?

Fire bans are issued by the ministry of forestry. Klahanie Campground complies with all fire restrictions that the ministry issues. To check for fire bans in Squamish, please click here
